Working with one brewery and meeting amazing people is awesome, but two? Count me in. I have made relationships with 2 breweries, one up and coming and gaining some serious traction, and the other was where I interned.
Hudson Valley Brewery is a brewery based in Beacon, NY. I was contacted by a co-owner wanting to choose me as his choice for the logo competition they were having. Each employee of the brewery was getting their designers of choice and having them come up with ideas. I was directed to have abstraction, but resemblance to water (for the Hudson River), and the mountains (for Mt.Beacon). Through a few cycles of ideas, mine was put into the mix with other illustrators and their approaches. I was fortunate enough to have a unanimous decision made on mine, and I have since built a great relationship with some amazing people at the brewery.
The second, I was lucky enough to intern at Brooklyn Brewery, under an extremely talented in house designer and working with Milton Glasier's branding guidelines. I was taught how to keep a tight schedule and have rapid response time. I juggled projects while maintaining creativity and it was an ideal environment to do so. I was taught to design for all products and to be able to put on many hats, for both print and web. I selected some works to show below during my time there.
